Blairwood Academy is Nassau's specialized school for children ages 2½–21 with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and other learning differences.
Small classes. Proven methods. Real results.
Our classrooms are built around the Orton-Gillingham method — a multisensory approach proven to help children with dyslexia and language-based learning differences learn to read, write, and succeed.
Every child can learn — they may just need a different approach. From our Early Intervention Program for toddlers to our Vocational High School track, we tailor education to the individual, not the other way around.
With class ratios as small as 5:1, no Blairwood student is ever lost in the crowd. Every lesson is designed specifically for them — their pace, their strengths, their goals.
"Blairwood gave my son something no other school could — confidence."— Parent of a Primary Student
Blairwood Academy serves students ages 2½ to 21 who learn best with individualized attention, small class sizes, and teaching rooted in science. We believe that learning differently does not mean learning less — and we prove it every day.
Our mission is simple: to end illiteracy in The Bahamas, one child at a time. Whether your child is two years old and missing milestones, or a teenager who has been told they will never read at grade level, Blairwood is where that story changes.
